SEREMBAN: A total of RM825.29mil, or 94.16% of the RM876.46mil allocation from the Rolling Plan 3 of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) channelled by the federal government, was spent on 292 development projects and programmes in Negri Sembilan this year.
Negri Sembilan State Development Office (PPNNS) director Roslan Mat Nong said out of a total of 292 projects involving 18 ministries, 79 of them were successfully implemented and fully completed, including four high impact physical projects.
“Among the high impact projects that have been fully completed is the construction of the Rembau Hospital near here with a total cost of RM147.59mil and a health clinic in Lenggeng (RM10.78mil).
“In addition to that were the Ladang Tanah Merah People’s Housing Programme, Port Dickson, amounting to RM32.75mil, and the Nilai district police headquarters (RM84.49mil) with the four projects worth RM275.61mil,” he last Saturday.
He said throughout this year, PPNNS identified 15 physical development projects under 12MP in the state which were categorised as late, with 11 of them successfully restored.
PPNNS is now also carrying out continuous monitoring actions on the remaining four projects that are still in sick status, including setting a recovery plan that contractors and implementing agencies must adhere to for the projects to be restored, he added.
“As a result of monitoring, we achieved zero sick projects last February. PPNNS will continue to monitor and ensure that the number of sick projects is at a minimum or zero next year. I am optimistic that it can be achieved through the solid cooperation of implementing agencies and related ministries,” he said.
PPNNS is an agency under the Implementation Coordination Unit that constantly monitors the implementation of 12MP projects or programmes in Negri Sembilan and one of its monitoring tasks is to visit projects that have been implemented. — Bernama
