KWAP names Zarina Halim as chief retirement services officer

KUALA LUMPUR: The Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP) has appointed Zarina Halim as chief retirement services officer effective Jan 2, 2024.

“As the chief retirement services officer, Zarina is responsible for developing and implementing policies, strategies, and initiatives of KWAP’s Retirement Services Division to maintain excellent performance of retirement services,” KWAP said in a statement.

In addition, she will oversee the monitoring of retirement services and customer service delivery to achieve the highest standards.

Zarina holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance (Honours) from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Honours) from the University of London.

Additionally, she is a Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Certified Sustainability Professional and a Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist under the Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners.

Zarina, who served in Hektar Group for over 20 years before joining KWAP, brings extensive experience and knowledge in the field of sustainability, where she also spearheaded the sustainability agenda for Hektar REIT.

Armed with a background in sustainability, Zarina is poised to fortify KWAP’s sustainable retirement strategies in her role as the chief retirement services officer.

She intends to benchmark with the top pension funds globally and emulate measures that would further improve the adequacy, sustainability, and integrity of KWAP’s pension system and operations.
