MoF appoints new chairman for Labuan FSA


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Wan Mohd Fadzmi Che Wan Othman Fadzilah has been appointed the chairman of the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), effective Jan 1, 2024, for a two-year term.

The Labuan FSA said yesterday Wan Mohd Fadzmi was appointed by the Finance Ministry (MoF) to succeed Datuk Siti Zainab Omar, who retired in May 2023.

With a career spanning 25 years in the finance industry, Wan Mohd Fadzmi, a seasoned professional banker, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Wan Mohd Fadzmi’s career started in Melbourne, Australia, as a cost estimator with Peter Slattery & Co in March 1986.

Returning to Malaysia in 1988, he joined Malayan Banking Bhd, where he held various senior management positions.

He subsequently joined RHB Bank Bhd to oversee international banking in Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei.

He served as the president and chief executive officer of Bank Pertanian Malaysia Bhd from 2011 to 2017.

Currently, he holds key chairmanship and directorship positions in various banking institutions and public and private companies. — Bernama
