Rohas Tecnic secures RM200mil MRT project

PETALING JAYA: Rohas Tecnic Bhd (RTB) has secured a RM199.84mil contract from Malaysia Rapid Transit System Sdn Bhd (MRTS) for the construction and completion of Bukit Chagar’s facade for the Rapid Transit System Link Johor Baru-Singapore Project (RTS Link Project – Package 8).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, RTB said the Rohas-Euco Industries Bhd-Sediabena Builders Sdn Bhd Consortium (consortium) had signed the letter of acceptance issued by MRTS on Jan 8.

The consortium comprises Rohas-Euco Industries Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RTB Sediabena Builders Sdn Bhd.

The RTS Link Project – Package 8 is expected to be completed by May 31, 2025.

RTB expects the contract to contribute positively to the earnings of the group for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2024 and 2025.

For the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2023, RTB reported a net profit of RM2.02mil compared with RM8.24mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue stood at RM87.54mil against RM96.58mil previously.

In a filing on its third-quarter performance, RTB said while it expects to see some improvement in the fourth quarter for its engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning business, the company expects manufacturing will likely continue to be beset by supply chain issues.

Looking further ahead, order book replenishment remains the group’s focus.
