KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI clawed back into positive territory on Friday after two straight days of losses as investors picked up bargains.
At 5pm, the 30-stock index closed up 4.34 points, or 0.29% at 1,487.34. For the week, the index fell 0.27 points.
Winners and losers were closely balanced, with 492 gainers against 486 losers and 445 that were flat. Turnover was at 4.07 billion shares valued at RM2.83bil.
Rapid Synergy continued its downtrend, falling RM2.17, or 18.87% to RM9.33. Imaspro slid 39 sen to RM1.60, Sime Darby Plantation fell 11 sen to RM4.31 and Heineken declined 10 sen to RM24.10.
Among the gainers, United Plantations rose 36 sen to RM18.88, YTL Power gained 31 sen to RM3.68, Allianz added 20 sen to RM19.48 and Amway climbed 20 sen to RM19.48.
Minetech, the most active counter on Bursa Malaysia, fell 2.5 sen, or 11.36% to 19.5 sen with 185.67 million shares traded.
Elsewhere in the region, Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 1.5%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index closed down 0.35%, South Korea’s Kospi fell 0.6% and China’s composite index declined 0.16%.
