AS the relentless pace of technological advancement continues on, digital transformation becomes eminent across all industries.
The change in the business environment has accelerated the need for digitalisation, leveraging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), big data and Internet of Things (IoT).
In response to this demand, Dagang NeXchange Berhad (DNeX) has introduced TradeSwift DAGANGNET, an all-in-one trade facilitation superapp developed by DNeX’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd (Dagang Net).
This comprehensive solution is designed to cater to the diverse needs of manufacturers, small and medium sized enterprises, importers and exporters, shipping agents, and freight forwarders, aiming to simplify and enhance trade processes in real-time.
Embracing digital solutions
The superapp complements Dagang Net's existing web based e-services, particularly those offered through the National Single Window (NSW) for trade facilitation.
The NSW, Malaysia’s gateway for trade that has been in operation since 2009, facilitates trade and increase efficiency of the government’s delivery service by allowing:
> Submission of data and information through a single point (single window)
> Re-use of data and information
> Synchronised processing of data and information from relevant private and public parties
> Ensure quick and efficient release of cargo from relevant authorities.
Through the NSW, traders can electronically complete customs declaration (eDeclare), process customs duty payment (ePayment), submit vessel cargo manifests (eManifest), apply and obtain approval for permits (ePermit) and preferential certificate of origin (ePCO), and apply for pre-registration and permits under the Strategic Trade Act 2010 (ePermitSTA).
Connecting over 25,000 users, the NSW processes an impressive figure of 100 million electronic transactions annually.
Addressing industry challenges
With over 30 years of experience in electronic customs-related transactions, Dagang Net developed TradeSwift DAGANGNET to address the challenges faced by traders in the digital trade landscape.
The app focuses on mitigating inefficiencies, improving turnaround time and simplifying trade operations for users.
The current features include the following:
> Track and trace: Real-time monitoring of transaction status for NSW services
> Payment notification: Receive updates on operational, lapsed, and late payments
> Trade references enquiry: Access information on permit and cost analysis validity, location code, tariff code, packaging, and measurement codes
> Integrated payment: Streamlined payment processes within the superapp.
In its second phase, TradeSwift DAGANGNET developers aim to introduce enhanced track and trace functionalities, along with features like the ability to manage bookings or schedule appointments with relevant authorities.
Future updates promise comprehensive reporting tools, advanced business analytics tools and insights into warehouse operations, adding substantial value to users.
Benefits to users
TradeSwift DAGANGNET revolutionises the trading landscape for cross-border transactions, offering benefits such as simplified trade procedures, improved turnaround time and real-time access to critical trade information.
The superapp’s mobility further allows traders the flexibility to conduct their trade operations from anywhere.
Dagang Net chief executive officer Wan Ahmad Syatibi Wan Abd Manan is optimistic that digital solutions will enhance trade mobility in the country.
“With its innovative features and seamless integration with existing e-services, TradeSwift DAGANGNET superapp is poised to enhance trade mobility, improve efficiency and contribute to Malaysia's stature as a prominent trade hub in the region,” he said.
