Sunview Group inks deal for RE project in Cambodia

PETALING JAYA: Sunview Group Bhd’s subsidiary, Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, has entered into a strategic business alliance agreement with a few Cambodian partners for the commision of a renewable energy (RE) project.

Sunview executive director and chief executive officer H P Ong said the RE project will have a targeted capacity of 500 megawatts on land in an undisclosed province in Cambodia.

“We are enthusiastic about this collaboration as it empowers us to expand our geographical reach beyond the local market.

“As a result, this synergy is poised to fortify our position in the industry, marking a crucial milestone in our commitment to sustainable energy solutions,” he said during the signing ceremony yesterday.

According to Ong, some of the details were still being finalised, but he hopes for the agreement to begin materialising this year.

“It is still at a preliminary stage at the moment. We still need to go there and have more discussions with these local partners which we will do soon,” he said.

In terms of choosing this undisclosed province, Ong said it was favourable to the project because the land was flat and the location was strategic.

“We have not set a time frame or completion for this project, but we plan to work alongside the partners diligently and ensure everything goes smoothly,” he said.
