PETALING JAYA: Aluminium extruder company P.A. Extrusion (M) Sdn Bhd has won an extension of supply agreement from its client, the First Solar group, with the contract valued at US$231.9mil - or approximately RM1.08bil.

The contract will run from Jan 2 this year to July 1, 2025, to supply goods for the production of photovoltaic (PV) modules.

P.A. Extrusion is a wholly-owned subsidiary of P.A. Resources Bhd (P.A.), Malaysia's leading aluminium extruder company.

First Solar is known as a leading global provider of comprehensive PV solar energy solutions. The supply agreement is between P.A. Extrusion and First Solar, Inc., First Solar Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and First Solar Vietnam Manufacturing Co. Ltd.

P.A. group executive chairman Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy noted that the latest contract extension is the fourth from First Solar, and is the biggest contract awarded to PA to date.

“This underscores the trust that First Solar has in us, which is founded on our ability to manufacture products that adhere to their stringent standard,” he said.

Given that the demand for solar energy is escalating globally, Chan said the group is proud to contribute to the shift towards green energy through its working relationship with First Solar.

He added that the latest contract win will provide P.A. with stable financial growth in the future, standing it in good stead to expand its business.

Being an investment holding company, P.A., through its subsidiaries, is principally involved in the business of aluminium extrusion and fabrication.

At the same time, the group has also expanded its business to upstream and downstream like the aluminium smelting, aluminium billet production, and surface finishing business.

The company is also involved in the renewable energy business.
