Malaysia plays host to IAA World Congress 2024 launch event


KUALA LUMPUR: The country recently played host to the launch event of the 45th International Advertising Association (IAA) World Congress 2024 with the aim to kindle awareness and anticipation for the upcoming congress scheduled for March 6 to 8.The event was held on Jan 23.

Guests from diverse sectors gathered at the Berjaya Times Square, marking the launch event as a prelude to the grand assembly of global minds that the IAA World Congress promises.

The launch event unfolded with a symbolic ceremony that unveiled the essence of the congress, centred around the theme “Brand: Re-Code, for a Better World, Better Life.”

Distinguished guests, including industry leaders and the media, were welcomed to witness a glimpse of the transformative journey that awaits participants in March.A key moment of the evening was the keynote address, delivered by John D Chacko, the president of IAA Malaysia highlighting the significance of the congress in shaping the future of marketing and communications globally. Chacko is also the vice-president of IAA Global, and chairman of the World Congress.

“IAA Malaysia and the Penang state government proudly stand as the hosts for the groundbreaking 45th IAA World Congress, a historic event that marks the first of its kind in South-East Asia. Under the theme, ‘Brand: Re-Code, for a Better World, Better Life,’ this congress is not just a convergence of ideas but a celebratory moment, commemorating the 85th Anniversary of IAA Global, the 30th Anniversary of IAA Malaysia and International Women’s Day,” he said in a statement.

The speech also underscored the congress’s commitment to catalysing collaboration, embracing innovation, and inclusivity and championing sustainable practices in the industry.

Attendees were treated to a preview of the congress’s diverse programme, featuring sessions, workshops, and panel discussions that will delve into the most pertinent issues facing the marketing, artificial intelligence (AI) and technology landscape.

The congress is gearing up to host a collection of invaluable insights from a stellar cast of over 30 C-suite speakers, ready to dive deep into its compelling content.

Among these prominent figures are luminaries like Simon Cook, CEO of Lions, Cannes Lions, WARC, Contagious, and Equity Pricing, along with Sasan Saeidi, the chairman and World President of IAA.

Other distinguished experts include Caroline Yap, global managing director of AI Business and Applied Engineering at Google Cloud, Laura Maness, global CEO of Grey, Maher Nasser, director of The Outreach Division at the United Nations, Daryl Lee, global CEO of McCann WorldGroup and David Haigh, founder and CEO of Brand Finance.
