Straits Energy’s unit bags RM15.17mil contract


KUALA LUMPUR: Straits Energy Resources Bhd’s indirect 70%-owned subsidiary, Straits CommNet Solutions Sdn Bhd (SCS) has bagged a RM15.17mil contract from Tianu Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Straits Energy the contract is for the installation, testing and commissioning of aluminium XLPE underground cables and accessories for asset development for Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

It noted that Tianu had been awarded this project by TNB and Tianu being the main contractor has joined forces under a smart partnership with SCS to deliver the project.

The contract period is for one year with an option to extend for another one year subject to satisfactory performance of the contractor.

The scope of work of SCS comprises the installation, testing and commissioning of aluminum XLPE underground cables and accessories for asset development for TNB.

“The acceptance of the letter of award is in line with the company’s strategy to expand its business network, enhance its revenue stream and to pursue strategic collaborations with valued business partners to cultivate a sustainable future,” Straits Energy said.
