Golden Pharos appoints Mohd Roslan as acting CEO

KUALA TERENGGANU: Timber firm Golden Pharos Bhd has appointed Terengganu Inc senior vice-president Mohd Roslan Mamat as its acting chief executive officer (CEO), effective today.

The Terengganu state government-linked company said his appointment follows the retirement of former CEO Dr Mohd Zaki Hamzah on March 12 after serving for about three years.

Mohd Roslan, 46, was seconded to oil palm plantation firm TDM Bhd -- another Terengganu Inc subsidiary -- as head of internal audit from January 2018 to November 2019, Golden Pharos said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

He holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the International Islamic University Malaysia and professional qualifications as Chartered International Auditor from the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia and Chartered Islamic Finance Professional from the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance.

Golden Pharos, which is 69.1 per cent owned by Terengganu state investment arms, focuses on forest concession management, harvesting and distribution, sawmilling and value-added processing of wood-based products, as well as manufacture and sale of architectural panel glass. - Bernama
