PUCHONG: NCT Alliance Bhd (NCT) hopes to boost Malaysia’s tourism and economy with its newest development, the Wyndham Ion Majestic Hotel in Genting Highlands.

NCT also announced its collaboration with Hard Rock International. This partnership will lead to the Hard Rock Cafe's opening, situated on the highest floor of the hotel.

Executive chairman and group managing director of NCT, Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy said with the addition of Hard Rock Cafe and the opening of Wyndham Ion Majestic Hotel, NCT expects its latest development arm to boost Malaysia’s tourism.

“By elevating the offerings in a thriving location that draws a high number of local and foreign visitors annually, this will further boost Malaysia's tourism sector and spur the domestic economy,” Yap added.

Meanwhile, “the tourism market in Genting Highlands will always be there and that is in line with the property demand in Genting Highlands itself,” said Sae-Yap Atthakovit, NCT’s non-executive director.

“We see (property) prices appreciating throughout the years as more developments are coming in,” he said

Atthakovit noted that these developments would create more job opportunities and attract potential investments from foreign buyers.

The Wyndham Ion Majestic Hotel has a total gross development value of RM1.6bil and its first phase is slated for a soft opening in the second quarter of this year. The establishment integrates hotel, dining, and retail spaces at 6,000 feet above sea level.

Yap said: “Our vision was to set a new benchmark in luxury hospitality by creating an incredible experience for visitors to Genting Highlands”.

He added that additional retail space of approximately 17,800 sq ft will be created to enhance the travel destination at Genting Highlands.

The Wyndham Ion Majestic Hotel offers 850 rooms on 50 floors, ranging from studio rooms to suites. The hotel is located within a close proximity to Genting Skyway and Genting Highlands Premium Outlets.

NCT announced that the new Hard Rock Cafe will be approximately 5,000 sq ft of space, coupled with luxury accommodations.
