PETALING JAYA: Sunway Group generated close to RM50mil in sales from its two-week nationwide Golden Jubilee Mega Roadshow – reaffirming the group’s status as a trusted brand, says Sunway Group chief executive officer for digital and strategic investments Evan Cheah.
The roadshow kicked off at Sunway Carnival Mall in Penang in February before moving to AEON Mall Kinta City in Ipoh, followed by Sunway Pyramid Mall in Sunway City KL. It wrapped up at Sunway Big Box Mall in Johor from March 5-10.
The group said in a statement yesterday that the roadshow, a key cornerstone of Sunway’s year-long celebrations, drew over 200,000 patrons across Selangor, Penang, Perak and Johor with family-friendly entertainment, limited-time offers and attractive prizes.
“The enthusiastic adoption of our Sunway Super App, which saw 28,000 new users and facilitated over RM6mil worth of transactions during the roadshow period, also indicates to us that our efforts on the digital transformation journey are progressing well and bearing fruit,” Cheah said in a statement.
A first-of-its-kind mobile app in Malaysia, the Sunway Super App offers users access to products and services across Sunway’s business divisions including Sunway Theme Parks, Sunway Malls, Sunway Property, Sunway Hotels & Resorts and Sunway Healthcare.
The app also provides access to more than 1,500 of Sunway’s existing business partners and retail merchants.
It would be ramping up several corporate social responsibility initiatives in line with its commitment to do well by doing good and to leave no one behind, as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations.
“During this year’s Ramadan month, Sunway worked with several non-governmental organisations, including long-term partner Malaysian AIDS Foundation, to bring its signature festive cheer initiative #SunwayforGood Sinar Ramadan to the underserved communities throughout Malaysia,” the company said.
In July, the Sunway – RapidKL Good Run 2024 will welcome more than 10,000 runners for a fundraising event where all proceeds will be distributed to 50 charity homes nationwide.
“Sunway is also pledging to pack over 500,000 meals at its annual Meal Pack-a-thon drive in September for underprivileged communities in Malaysia and abroad,” it added.
