Salcon unit bags RM9.7mil sewerage deal


KUALA LUMPUR: Salcon Bhd has secured a sewerage treatment plant contract worth RM9.71mil from Rantau Urusan (M) Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Salcon said Envitech Sdn Bhd, a 60%-owned subsidiary of Salcon Engineering Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, accepted the letter of award from Rantau Urusan.

The 20-month contract involves the design and construction of a sewage treatment plant to cater for a population of 54,000 in Perak.

“The project is expected to contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets of Salcon Group for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2024 to 2026,” Salcon said.

For its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2023, Salcon’s net loss narrowed to RM15.14mil from a net loss of RM18.12mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue dipped to RM52.58mil from RM64.75mil previously.
