GLOBAL leading provider of information and communication technology solutions ZTE Corporation announced the success of the "Unfolding the Intelligent Future 2024" event, which took place at the Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur on May 13.

The event, which has been held annually over the last decade, was graced by the presence of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). It featured a comprehensive showcase of ZTE’s cutting-edge innovations in 5G technology.

ZTE marked a significant achievement in 5G technology by reaching speeds of up to 28Gbps, a milestone first announced in October of the previous year.

This groundbreaking advancement resulted from strategic collaboration among Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), Telekom Malaysia (TM), and ZTE.

It sets a new benchmark for connectivity, empowering network operators to deliver unmatched speeds and superior service quality.

This enhancement not only broadens the horizons for consumers but also creates new opportunities for businesses, paving the way for innovative applications and improved digital experiences.

ZTE Malaysia managing director Steven Ge said during his keynote speech, “Malaysia holds a key position in ZTE Corporation.

“It is an important country for us and we are committed to playing a significant role in its digital transformation journey.

“Our goal is to build the best-wired and wireless networks in the region, enabling seamless connectivity and driving innovation across various sectors,” he shared.

“This commitment is demonstrated by our recent showcase of the 5G millimetre wave (mmWave) with the world’s fastest download speed, which earned ZTE Malaysia the fastest 5G-A live trial by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR).”

The recognition of this achievement by the MBR, initially documented last October, was ceremonially celebrated during the event.

The presence of MBR marked the occasion on stage along with Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din, ZTE Malaysia managing director Steven Ge, ZTE Malaysia deputy country manager Tey Khang Lian, ZTE Malaysia vice president Normah Arip, TM chief commercial officer for consumer Jasmine Lee and Digital Nasional Berhad chief operating officer Nasution Mohamed, who collectively highlighted the significance of the moment.

This event underscores ZTE’s commitment to advancing Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and highlights its role in driving global telecommunications innovation.

Building on this significant momentum, ZTE is dedicated to developing a robust 5G network in Malaysia that promises ultra-high speed, reduced latency and enhanced connectivity.

Such advancements are set to revolutionise sectors including healthcare, education and manufacturing.

At the heart of the event, ZTE showcased its cutting-edge advancements in 5G infrastructure development and deployment on a global scale, demonstrating the company's readiness to tailor its solutions to meet the unique demands of Malaysia's 5G strategy and reaffirming its proactive engagement in the country’s strategic 5G rollout.

"ZTE's dedication to innovation is reflected in our substantial investment in research and development, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of quality and performance," Ge added.

This commitment positions ZTE to tailor its solutions to meet the unique demands of Malaysia's 5G strategy and to continue its significant contributions to the country's digital ecosystem.

The event also featured insightful sessions, keynotes from industry leaders and a comprehensive showcase of ZTE's pioneering solutions in the digital landscape.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore how ZTE’s innovations in 5G-Advanced, Cloud IP and Redcap technology can drive efficiency and sustainability in business operations.
