PETALING JAYA: Johari Shukri Jamil has resigned as the executive director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Hektar Asset Management Sdn Bhd, the manager of Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), effective June 11.

Hektar-REIT owns six shopping centres including Subang Parade and Mahkota Parade.

Johari, 52, who has served as CEO since June 11, 2022, is stepping down to pursue other professional opportunities.

Prior to being CEO, Johari was appointed as a non-independent non-executive director of Hektar-REIT in February 2022.

“His leadership in the aftermath of the pandemic revived our profitability and restored confidence in Hektar-REIT,” the board of directors said in a statement.

The process to determine the new CEO and executive director is currently underway.

For continuity of management, Hektar-REIT’s board of directors appointed Zulazman Zulkifli as the interim non-executive chairman with immediate effect.
