Theta Edge unit to develop IoT for Ampang Jaya smart city initiative


KUALA LUMPUR: Theta Edge Bhd's subsidiary Theta Telecoms Sdn Bhd a secured a request for proposal (RFP) contract from the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) for the supply of cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

Under the terms of the project, Theta will invest RM673.8mil in developing IoT for the smart economy in Ampang Jaya.

In a statement, the group said the contract, which has a concession period of 20 years under the private public partnership, was part of the city's smart business initiative.

"This contract with MPAJ is a clear testament to our expertise in loT technology and our dedication to fostering urban living through smart innovations.

"We are dedicated to fully support MPAJ in their journey towards becoming full-fledged smart city, as well as help improve overall efficiency in their operations, and services to their communities as well as the creation of a more efficient business ecosystem," said Theta group CEO Datuk Nuraslina Zainal Abidin.
