SC seeks fintech startups to enhance Islamic capital market

The FIKRA Accelerator programme is expected to begin in August.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Commission (SC) is inviting applications for the second cohort of the FIKRA ACE Accelerator programme, which is part of the FIKRA ACE initiative.

SC said in a statement yesterday that the programme supports startups in developing innovative solutions through an eight-week programme featuring workshops, mentorship, networking, and funding facilitation.

The FIKRA Accelerator programme, expected to begin in August, is open to individuals or companies with less than three years of market presence and accepts both local and international applicants.

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corp is the strategic local ecosystem partner for the programme.

MDEC will continue to support startups participating in the programme with the infrastructure, resources, and market knowledge to scale their businesses more effectively.

“The SC will also collaborate with the Islamic Development Bank as the global ecosystem partner, to help enrich the contents of the programme with international insights and perspectives,” the SC said. - Bernama
