SC adds 2 unauthorised entities, 4 potential clone entities to investor alert list

KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Commission (SC) Malaysia has added and updated its Investor Alert List to include two unauthorised entities and individuals on social media platforms and four potential clone entities.

In its post on social media today, the SC said the unauthorised entities on social media platforms were ‘Sri Saham’ and ‘Convenant Wealth’.

"Beware of illegal investment schemes offered via social media platforms,” it said.

Meanwhile, the regulator also cautioned investors to beware of the potential clone entities that may be impersonating legitimate entities.

It named three potential clone entities called ‘Kenanga 424’, ‘Kenanga 0709’ and ‘Kenanga 463’, which are misusing the name and credentials of Kenanga Investors Bhd to carry out illegal investment schemes through the WhatsApp chat application and a website.

The SC also named another potential clone entity, ‘One Solution Advisory’, that is misusing the name and credentials of One Solution Advisory Sdn Bhd for the same purpose.

"Always check before investing,” the regulator said.
