Former Chief Justice Md Raus appointed to Sedania's board of directors


KUALA LUMPUR: Sedania Innovator Bhd has appointed former Chief Justice Tun Md Raus Sharif (pic) as an independent non-executive director on its board of directors, effective Aug 2, 2024.

Md Raus, who was the 14th Chief Justice of Malaysia, has held various key positions in the country's judiciary, including the Magistrate President of the Sessions Court, Deputy Public Prosecutor, and Legal Advisor to several ministries including the Ministry of International Trade; Ministry of Defence; and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He also served as the State Legal Advisor for the states of Malacca and Kelantan, with his last posting in the Judicial and Legal Service as the Treasury Solicitor with the Ministry of Finance.

On Nov 1 1994, Md Raus was appointed as a Judicial Commissioner and was subsequently elevated to a High Court Judge on Jan 12, 1996.

Md Raus’ tenure as a High Court Judge saw him serving in Shah Alam, Muar, Penang, and the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Division, Civil Division (Family Court), Commercial Division, and the Appellate and Special Powers Division.

He was elevated to the Court of Appeal on July 28, 2006, and then to the Federal Court on Oct 14, 2009.

Md Raus assumed the office of Chief Justice of Malaysia on April 1, 2017.
