Kawan Renergy bags RM58mil contract

PETALING JAYA: Kawan Renergy Bhd has won a RM58mil contract from Kinergy Advancement Bhd to provide mechanical and firefighting works as well as electrical works for a 52MW power plant in Sipitang, Sabah.

Kawan Engineering Sdn Bhd (KESB), a unit of Kawan Renergy, entered into an agreement with KAB Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd on Aug 7 to finalise KESB’s appointment as the subcontractor.

KAB Energy, wholly-owned by Kinergy Advancement, is the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contractor for the project.

In 2023, Kinergy Advancement announced that it has joined hands with Petronas Gas Bhd’s subsidiary Sipitang Utilities Sdn Bhd to build the country’s largest gas engine power plant with a capacity of 52MW.
