KUALA LUMPUR: The Finance Ministry's engagement process with stakeholders for the purpose of preparing Budget 2025 is going smoothly.
Communications Minister and spokesman for the Unity Government Fahmi Fadzil said that during yesterday's post-Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Finance Minister, informed that almost all ministries have or are still continuing the discussion sessions with stakeholders.
"We welcome feedback from various industrial sectors as well as stakeholders for the respective ministry to contact either the chief secretary or minister.
"If they have any feedback, views or suggestions, the Finance Ministry will take it into account in the preparation of Budget 2025," he told reporters after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) and the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) to extend social protection to part-time media practitioners through the Self-Employed Social Security Scheme (SKSPS) at Wisma Bernama today.
The Finance Ministry had in the pre-budget statement published on July 30 set the theme of Ekonomi MADANI: Negara Makmur, Rakyat Sejahtera as a guide to the consultation process for Budget 2025.
In line with MADANI principles, the government is committed to ensuring the Budget 2025 drafting process is holistic and comprehensive by welcoming feedback from all parties.
Budget 2025 will be presented in Parliament on Oct 18, 2024. - Bernama
