Powerwell gets RM15mil supply contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Powerwell Holdings Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Kejuruteraan Powerwell Sdn Bhd has secured a RM14.75mil contract from a leading international contractor.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Powerwell said the contract is for the supply, delivery, supervision, testing and commissioning of electrical low-voltage switchboards for a data centre in Malaysia.

“The supply contract is expected to contribute positively to Powerwell’s consolidated earnings and net assets for the financial year ending March 31, 2025,” it said.

In a statement, Powerwell executive director Catherine Wong said the data centre market in Malaysia is set for significant growth.

“This project underscores our group’s ability to deliver complex, high-quality electrical solutions and strengthens our position as a leader in the industry.”

Powerwell noted that Malaysia’s strategic location, robust telecommunications infrastructure and government support make it an increasingly attractive destination for data centre investments.
