KUALA LUMPUR: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd will keep an eye on challenges like ringgit fluctuations, skilled labour shortages, and rising material costs, and adjust its business strategies as needed to protect its operations and financial performance.

“The group continues to be supported by an outstanding order book of RM4.3bil for construction contracts as at June 30,” Kerjaya Prospek said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

In the second quarter ended June 30, the group’s net profit rose 17.4% year-on-year to RM37.08mil, or earnings per share of 2.94 sen from RM31.6mil, or 2.50 sen previously.

Revenue for the quarter rose 27.8% to RM395.4mil against RM309.3mil posted in the year-ago quarter.

The group has approved and declared a second interim single-tier dividend of 2.5 sen per ordinary share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024.

For the first half, Kerjaya Prospek posted a higher net profit and revenue of RM70.6mil and RM732.5mil respectively.

Kerjaya Prospek said while the group's main goal is to expand its core construction business, it plans to keep its manufacturing segment to support and complement this focus.

On its property development, the group has launched two projects: The Vue @ Monterez and Papyrus @ North Kiara. These developments are expected to impact the group's results positively.
