BFood expects gradual improvement in its performance


PETALING JAYA: Berjaya Food Bhd (BFood) remains cautiously optimistic about its outlook and expects a gradual improvement in its operational performance in the next financial year.

For the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2024, BFood reported a net loss of RM38.20mil, compared with a net profit of RM17.28mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue dipped to RM130.57mil from RM271.75mil previously.In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, BFood said the significantly lower revenue and loss incurred during the quarter was mainly due to the current sentiment in relation to the conflict in the Middle East.

During the quarter under review, the group reported a loss per share of 2.16 sen compared with an earnings per share of 0.99 sen a year earlier.

For the financial year ended June 30, 2024, BFood reported a net loss of RM91.52mil compared with a net profit of RM103.40mil a year earlier, while revenue dropped to RM730.30mil from RM1.12bil a year earlier.
