KPJ Healthcare records higher 2Q earnings


The specialist healthcare provider's revenue for the quarter increased by 18% to RM930.56mil.

PETALING JAYA: KPJ Healthcare Bhd’s net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2024 (2Q24) rose to RM75.88mil from RM46.88mil in 2Q23.

Revenue for the quarter under review increased by 18% to RM930.56mil compared to RM785.36mil previously.

“This was largely contributed by the increase in bed occupancy rate from increased patient visits and bed capacity in the current quarter,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The specialist healthcare provider said the Malaysian segment accounted for 98% of its total revenue at RM914.2mil in 2Q24.

This represented a 19% increase from the RM770.5mil recorded in 2Q23.

KPJ Healthcare declared a single-tier interim dividend of one sen per share, payable on Oct 4, 2024.

In 1H24, the group’s net profit improved to RM147.27mil from RM98.27mil in 1H23. Revenue increased by 15% to RM1.84bil from RM1.60bil previously. — Bernama
