AWC gets RM19.9mil sub contract job from Gamuda


KUALA LUMPUR: AWC Bhd has accepted a letter of award from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for the construction and completion of cold water, rainwater harvesting, water reticulation, fire hydrant, foul water and sewerage services in Gombak, Selangor, worth RM19.9mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, AWC said the sub-contract was secured by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Qudotech Sdn Bhd, adding that works shall commence from Sept 2, 2024 and be completed by Nov 18, 2025.

“The sub-contract works are in the ordinary course of business of Qudotech. The potential risks involved in these sub-contract works are considered normal operational risks and are the same with any other works of such nature undertaken.”

The company said the sub-contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the AWC Group over the duration of the works.

“The board of directors of the company is of the opinion that the acceptance of the letter of award is in the ordinary course of business and is in the best interest of the company.”
