EPF, Tabung Haji exit Globetronics

PETALING JAYA: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has ceased to be a shareholder in Globetronics Technology Bhd, following the sale of all its shares in the tech company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Globetronics noted the retirement fund sold its remaining 9.48 million shares on Sept 10. The EPF held 54.9 million shares in Globetronics in mid-July.

Another institutional investor, Lembaga Tabung Haji, also ceased to be a shareholder in Globetronics on Sept 10 after selling its remaining four million shares held.

Both funds sold their stakes in the outsourced semiconductor assembly and test and semiconductor company after its auditors, Messrs KPMG PLT, resigned voluntarily on Sept 4. The resignation will take effect on Sept 25.

In a recent filing, Globetronics noted it has shortlisted UHY Malaysia as a new auditor, pending the completion of official documentation to formalise the appointment.
