KUALA LUMPUR: Invest Malaysia 2024 is expected to attract over 500 delegates, including foreign fixed-income, equity, and private equity investors, with a combined asset under management (AUM) of over RM56.7 trillion.

In a statement today, Bursa Malaysia Bhd said this flagship edition will be co-hosted with Maybank, CIMB Securities, and HSBC Malaysia, in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru, on Sept 26, 2024.

"This is the fifth edition in the Invest Malaysia series for this year, following previous editions in Melbourne (March), China (virtual, April), Singapore (August) and Hong Kong (September).

"The conference, themed ‘Where Policy Meets Progress’, would feature Iskandar Puteri as the premier southern gateway of the country, with a special highlight on the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JSSEZ) and other attractive incentive offerings for investors,” said the statement.

The conference would be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who would deliver the keynote address.

Bursa Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift said the presence of Anwar to the conference would draw foreign and local investors from both sides of the causeway, offering insights into Malaysia’s macroeconomic landscape and market prospects, particularly in Johor.

"Invest Malaysia remains a key event in Corporate Malaysia’s calendar, sparking meaningful discourse and boosting investor confidence in our market.

"Collaboration with broker partners like Maybank, CIMB and HSBC Malaysia highlights the capital market’s commitment to investment opportunities and national growth,” he said.

Muhamad Umar said these discussions would offer the global investment community a greater appreciation and deeper understanding of Malaysia’s competitive edge as an attractive and sustainable investment destination.

"The opportunities presented will not only enhance attention on the JSSEZ but also stimulate overall economic growth in Malaysia,” he said.

The conference would also feature sessions with the Minister of Economy Rafizi Ismail and Johor Chief Minister Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. - Bernama
