THE ringgit has been a superstar among its Asian counterparts in recent times. Its climb against the US dollar received further boost on Wednesday, following the half percentage cut in the US Federal Funds Rate (FFR).
As the US interest-rate cycle starts to slowly move towards its 2% target amid a cooling economy and inflation, the decline in the US dollar’s strength will accelerate as interest-rate differentials with other countries, including Malaysia, narrow.
