SDB appoints new auditor after unprecedented loss


KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Development Bank Bhd (SDB) has appointed Messrs Forvis Mazars PLT (Forvis Mazars) as its new auditor for financial year (FY) 2024.

In a statement today, SDB said Forvis Mazars will be replacing Messrs Ernst & Young following the bank’s Annual General Meeting on Sept 19.

The bank had recently announced an unprecedented loss of RM878 million in FY2023 despite reporting profits of RM680 million for the past six years since FY2017.

"The bank is conducting a comprehensive and rigorous review and will take appropriate actions to

enforce accountability to those found responsible for the unprecedented loss,” it said.
