PUMM hosts competition to inspire young entrepreneurs

PETALING JAYA: The Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM) recently held its Entrepreneur’s Coliseum (TEC), a dynamic pitching competition specifically designed for youths under 30.

Now in its second edition, this competition aims not only to reward innovative ideas but also to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among young individuals, particularly university students.

With a total prize pool of RM50,000 and additional benefits in kind, the TEC presents a substantial opportunity for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talent and ingenuity.

PUMM said the primary goal of the event is to instil the entrepreneurial spirit among the youth, encouraging them to think creatively and embrace challenges.

“To achieve this vision, PUMM organised a series of roadshows across the country, engaging thousands of students and aspiring entrepreneurs.

“These roadshows were led by various successful entrepreneurs, who shared their experiences and insights, fostering an environment where young minds could flourish.”

PUMM notes that the TEC made a positive impact by hosting a series of dynamic roadshows across multiple universities, igniting excitement among students.

“With over 10 universities registering participants, the event is becoming a hotbed for aspiring entrepreneurs eager to dive into the world of innovation and business.

“This overwhelming response showcases the growing interest in entrepreneurship and the potential for future leaders to connect, collaborate and thrive.”

PUMM said the competition format required participants to submit their pitch decks, which were evaluated based on several criteria, including originality, feasibility, market potential and overall presentation.

“A panel of seven judges, comprising central committee members of PUMM who are also accomplished entrepreneurs, meticulously reviewed the submissions.

“After extensive discussion and deliberation, the top 10 finalists were selected, ready to compete for the ultimate prize.”

According to PUMM, participants had the opportunity to present their business ideas in front of the judges and an audience eager to see the next generation of entrepreneurs in action.

“The finalists represented a diverse range of industries and innovative concepts, demonstrating the breadth of talent among young entrepreneurs in Malaysia.

“This rigorous evaluation process ensured that only the most promising ideas progressed to the final stage.”
