Economic growth momentum strengthens


Malaysia's Industrial Production Index rose by 4.1% year-on-year in August.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia reported positive economic data for August as industrial production, wholesale and retail trade, and manufacturing sales expanded, further indicating growth momentum likely remains sustainable.

The Industrial Production Index (IPI) rose by 4.1% year-on-year (y-o-y) in August, supported by a 6.5% growth in manufacturing sector output and a 4.1% increase in electricity output.
