PETALING JAYA: The Persatuan Usahawan Muda Malaysia (PUMM) hosted its Entrepreneur Colosseum 2024 (TEC), a dynamic Entrepreneur Day aimed at nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among youth and undergraduates.
The event, graced by guest of honour Selangor state executive council member Ng Sze Han, showcased the top-10 finalists selected from a competitive field of 50 teams.
“TEC initially began on May 15, 2024, followed by an extensive roadshow visiting 10 universities to engage students through talks on entrepreneurship.
“This initiative successfully inspired 50 teams to participate, with 10 teams advancing to the finals. To further prepare the contestants, PUMM organised a pitching workshop on Aug 18, featuring industry leaders who shared valuable insights,” said PUMM in a statement.
PUMM president Datuk Dr Teh Tai Yong, who played a pivotal role in organising the event, emphasised its significance in fostering entrepreneurship among young Malaysians.
“TEC serves as a powerful catalyst for igniting new ideas, perfectly aligning with PUMM’s mission,” Teh said.
He added the finalists demonstrated exceptional quality, leveraging technology, artificial intelligence and innovation in their business concepts, all while integrating vital environmental, social and governance principles.
Michael Koh Yong Quan, the event’s organising chairperson, said: “Since our first meeting on March 3, we have achieved remarkable milestones, including successful media engagement and a productive workshop. The culmination of our efforts was evident during the TEC programme.”
The event concluded with the announcement of the top three qualifiers and a total grand prize pool worth up to RM50,000.
