KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch today include Capital A Bhd, Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd, TAS Offshore Bhd, Pantech Group Holdings Bhd, LFE Corp Bhd, ABM Fujiya Bhd and MNRB Holdings Bhd.

Capital A has announced that its proposed regularisation plan includes a capital reduction of up to RM6bil to offset the group's accumulated losses.

It said the exact quantum of share capital to be reduced is dependent on the accumulated losses of the group; and the resultant issued share capital of the company, after the completion of the proposed corporate exercise

Capital A expects to submit the final plan soon, which will facilitate its exit from Pactice Note 17 (PN17) status.

Kerjaya Prospek via its subsidiary has secured contracts worth a combined RM34.43mil for works at two separate projects in Selangor and Pulau Pinang respectively.

TAS Offshore has secured shipbuilding contracts for eight units of tugboat with value of approximately RM49.1mil.

Pantech’s net profit dropped to RM20.74mil in the second quarter ended Aug 31 (2Q24) from RM28.42mil in the previous corresponding period,

Revenue in 2Q24 increased to RM252.14mil from RM250.38mil a year earlier.

LFE Corp has accepted a letter of award worth RM81.71mil from Puncakcity Development Sdn Bhd to be the main contractor for main building works, for a period of approximately 32 months.

Chinese battery maker Jujiang Power Technology Co Ltd is proposing to subscribe to a 40% stake worth RM48mil in ABM Fujiya’s unit, Fuya Energy Sdn Bhd (FESB).

MNRB posted a higher net profit of RM92.7mil in the second quarter ended Sept 30 compared with RM41.6mil in the same quarter last year.

The group posted a lower revenue of RM974.3mil against RM977.5mil last year.

Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.96% to 42,514.95, the S&P 500 lost 0.92% to 5,797.42 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.60% to 18,276.65.
