Datasonic gets RM22mil JPJ licence contract


PETALING JAYA: Datasonic has secured a RM21.52mil contract from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to supply special category driving licence cards.

In a bourse filing, the company said its subsidiary, Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd (DTSB), accepted the letter of award (LoA) from JPJ on Oct 21.

The contract will be valid for 36 months, commencing from Nov 1, 2024, and ending on Oct 31, 2027.

“Under the terms of the LoA, DTSB is required to furnish a performance bond for the amount of RM358,722 to JPJ, with validity period until 12 months after the end of the contract date or the last obligation date, whichever is later.

“DTSB is also required to implement the Professional Training and Education for Growing Entrepreneurs or Protege programme, as set by the government, based on the contract value with the minimum number of participants of nine persons, at no cost to the government,” it said.
