PETALING JAYA: AmBank Group has shortlisted 10 local companies to the final phase of AmBank BizRACE Season 4 to secure a spot as the top-three finalists.
The latest season of the competition centres on the theme of Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) adoption.
The 10 finalists will soon undergo in-person coaching related to their respective IR4.0 and sustainability frameworks and action plans with industry specialists from Bosch Rexroth Malaysia and Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corp (MGTC).
The total prize value this season amounts to RM2mil, which comprises development programmes centred around IR4.0 and ESG workshops, one-to-one consultations, green, carbon management and ESG solutions, and on-site factory assessments by industry specialists from Bosch Rexroth and MGTC, as well as Pantas Software.
The grand prize will also include a sponsored innovation trip abroad next year, AmBank said in a statement.
The banking group noted the 10 finalists exemplified a new breed of business leaders who have optimised their operations through the integration of advanced technologies while embedding sustainable practices and social responsibility into their business models, setting the pace for other Malaysian businesses.
Christopher Yap, managing director, business banking, AmBank Group said, “AmBank BizRACE is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting businesses as they navigate today’s dynamic market, particularly in the context of an increasingly digital and environmentally conscious world.
“This season is not just about technological innovation, but also recognising businesses that prioritise sustainability as a key differentiator.
“The top-10 finalists are paving the way for a new generation of companies that are future-ready and purpose-driven. We look forward to seeing how they further embrace IR4.0 and ESG across their value chains.”
The top 10 finalists are BloomThis Flora Sdn Bhd, Chuan Sin Sdn Bhd, Diverse Integrated Sdn Bhd, HZ Green Pulp Sdn Bhd, IMetal (M) Sdn Bhd, Linkk Busway Systems (M) Sdn Bhd, Morrissey Assembly Solution Sdn Bhd, Steady Auto Body Maker Sdn Bhd, Sydney Cake House Sdn Bhd and Trapo Marketing Sdn Bhd.
AmBank said the shortlisted companies demonstrated an innovative approach to smart manufacturing, data analytics and machine learning while also advancing initiatives such as energy efficiency, waste reduction and workforce empowerment.
“These companies serve as inspiring case studies and role models for integrating IR4.0 and ESG principles into their business. As our experts from Bosch Rexroth visited these participating companies to assess and advise on their pain points, we have seen the commitment and innovation displayed by these businesses.
“We are proud to have helped them find viable solutions to reduce waste, increase productivity, improve processes and decarbonise” said Darren Chan, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Bosch Rexroth Malaysia.
MGTC’s group CEO Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor added the selected companies exemplified leadership in green practices through innovative products, services and business models.
He added MGTC had coached the businesses in energy efficiency, renewable energy, green strategies and sustainable business practices.
“Their commitment to sustainability sets a benchmark for the industry to prepare Malaysia towards a low carbon economy,” he said.
Max Lee, CEO of Pantas, said Pantas equipped the companies with the tools to seamlessly measure, track and report their carbon emissions and ESG metrics.
“Pantas’ carbon management and ESG platform enables businesses to efficiently collect and monitor their Scope 1 and 2 emissions, alongside key ESG indicators, while automating the reporting process.
“This gives them actionable insights into their sustainability performance, empowering them to take informed steps to enhance their environmental and social impact,” he said.
