KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch on Thursday include Haily Group Bhd, Hup Seng Industries Bhd, Binasat Communications Bhd, Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd (LCT), Xin Synergy Group Bhd, Deleum Bhd and Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd (SCIB).

Haily has secured a RM89.9mil contract from Venice View Development Sdn Bhd for a residential project at Taman Tiara Indah, Johor.

Hup Seng’s net profit rose 32.6% to RM17.3mil in 3Q24 compared with RM13mil posted a year ago while earnings per share climbed to 2.16 sen from 1.63 sen previously. Revenue for the quarter grew by 10.9%, reaching RM104.4mil compared to RM94.2mil.

Binasat has secured a contract worth RM13.3mil from Enertra Sdn Bhd to conduct civil works for the Amazon’s KUL071 132 kilowatts high-voltage substation.

LCT’s net loss widened to RM246.4mil in the third quarter ended Sept 30, compared with RM55.6mil in the same period last year while revenue was flat at RM1.95bil against RM1.96bil previously.

Xin Synergy Group has entered into a conditional share sale and purchase agreement with Harvest Capital Development Sdn Bhd and Big Land Capital Sdn Bhd to acquire the entire equity interest in Johor-based developer Medini Marina Sdn Bhd for RM18.24mil.

SCIB is acquiring four plots of land totaling 7.34 hectares in Bintulu, Sarawak from Wong Kwong Hie Enterprise Sdn Bhd and James Wong Hee Beng for RM18.41mil.

Deleum’s wholly-owned subsidiary Deleum Services Sdn Bhd has purchased an additional 16% stake in gas turbine supplier Turboservices Sdn Bhd from Solar Turbines International Co for RM7.3mil.

Overnight, US stocks rallied sharply to close at record highs on Wednesday after Republican Donald Trump won the 2024 US presidential election.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1,508.05 points, or 3.57%, to 43,729.93, the S&P 500 gained 146.28 points, or 2.53%, to 5,929.04 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 544.29 points, or 2.95%, to 18,983.47.
