WE Communications announces expansion into M’sia

Former Cabinet minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.

KUALA LUMPUR: WE Communications (WE), a leading independent global communications consultancy, has announced its expansion into Malaysia through Chase Advisors.

This expansion is in response to the growing demand for regional communications and advocacy services across the various industries including consumer goods, finance, healthcare and technology.

“With South-East Asia’s expanding middle class, dynamic digital ecosystem and strong economic ties between the United States and Malaysia, it’s the perfect time for WE to deepen our presence here and leverage opportunities for growth across the region,” WE’s chief executive officer of International Kass Sells said at the launch event yesterday.

Chase Advisors will offer a comprehensive suite of WE services, including policy advocacy and advisory, data and analytics, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications.

The office here will be led by managing director for Malaysia, Kanesan Veluppillai.

In his speech, former and now retired Cabinet minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said he hoped Malaysia would continue to have vibrant trade and investment relations with the United States under the President-elect Donald Trump.

“Social media has completely changed the media landscape. Hopefully, this change is for the better. And it is my hope that Chase Advisors and the WE team find business success in Malaysia,” he said in his speech that was read out by the vice-president of United Nations Association Malaysia Datuk T C Tan.

“Malaysia plays a strategic role in global trade and digital infrastructure, and we believe there is significant opportunity ahead of us,” said managing director for Chase Asia-Pacific Manash Neog.

Regional executive managing director for Asia-Pacific at WE Nitin Mantri said: “Due to the dominance of social media, mobile-first audiences and an appetite for hyper-localised content, businesses need a trusted partner to help them navigate an increasingly complex landscape.”

Meanwhile, Kanesan said Chase will deliver insights and strategies that will help its clients thrive in this rapidly evolving environment for the communications industry.
