KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Asset Management Bhd (Hong Leong AM) has launched Hong Leong Dana Dividen, a Shariah-compliant equity income and growth fund that offers investors opportunities for capital growth and regular income distribution.

Hong Leong AM chief executive officer Chue Kwok Yan said the fund aims to deliver both financial and socially responsible benefits by focusing on companies that uphold Shariah principles and adhere to strong ethical business practices.

“We are committed to supporting investors in meeting their financial goals by providing access to a diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant equities and equity-related securities, with a particular emphasis on companies which have good dividend payout policies or the potential to have good dividend policies and higher dividends. This allows investors to not only potentially grow their capital but also benefit from a steady income stream,” Chue said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Hong Leong Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Noor Aini Shaik Awab said: “As the external fund manager for Hong Leong Dana Dividen, our focus is on identifying well-managed, Shariah-compliant companies with solid growth potential.”

“Our disciplined approach to managing Shariah-compliant portfolios allows us to seek out quality investments that are aligned with the fund’s investment objective. By carefully selecting companies with strong fundamentals and ethical business practices, we aim to position the fund to offer both competitive returns and long-term sustainability.”

Hong Leong Islamic AM is the appointed external fund manager for the fund. It is distributed through Hong Leong AM offices and its nationwide agency network, priced at RM0.5000 per unit during the initial offer period until Dec 1, 2024.

The minimum initial investment for the fund is RM1,000, with a minimum additional investment of RM100. The fund is also available through Hong Leong AM’s online portal, HL iSmart Invest.
