KUALA LUMPUR: TM Global, the wholesale arm of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), will expand its Klang Valley Data Centre (KVDC) in Cyberjaya and the Iskandar Puteri Data Centre (IPDC) in Johor to meet surging demand for local and international data hosting services.

In a statement, TM Global executive vice-president Khairul Liza Ibrahim said KVDC and IPDC are integral infrastructures in Malaysia’s digital ecosystem, functioning as international gateways and interconnection hubs to support 5G networks.

“This second phase of our data centre expansion will feature sustainable designs, boosting our capacity to support hyperscalers, over-the-top players, cloud and next-generation artificial intelligence providers, as well as enterprises,” she said.

Khairul Liza also highlighted that the company has enhanced its data hosting services via a recent acquisition of the facilities-based operator licence in Singapore, enabling it to deliver seamless and secure connectivity via its extensive domestic fibre optic network and international submarine cable systems. — Bernama
