PHNOM PENH: The Global Chinese Economic and Technology Summit (GCET), formerly known as the World Chinese Economic Summit, will take place on Nov 26 here.
The event is hosted by the Royal Government of Cambodia and is expected to attract approximately 300 participants from countries including China, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Hong Kong and other Asean nations.
The summit will be officially opened by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, who will deliver the keynote address.
MCA president and adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister on Chinese investments, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong will deliver a special address.
The summit will conclude with remarks by Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Economy and Finance Minister Aun Pornmoniroth.
Organised by the World Digital Chamber (WDC), Asean Economic Club, China Development Institute, China Daily and the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, the 2024 GCET will convene at a pivotal time of global uncertainty and volatility.
“This summit comes at a crucial and challenging time. Collaboration, partnership and the pursuit of inclusive and sustainable development will be key priorities for discussion,” said GCET organising chairman, WDC and KSI Strategic Institute president Tan Sri Michael Yeoh.
“The forum will also explore critical issues such as digital and green transformation and the impact of artificial intelligence on business and society.”
In addition to the main forum, a China-Asean Roundtable will be held the following day to foster deeper regional dialogue and collaboration.
