PETALING JAYA: UEM Sunrise Bhd’s chief executive officer (CEO) Sufian Abdullah has resigned to pursue other opportunities.

In a statement, the property developer said Sufian, 50, had given notice of his resignation on Nov 29, 2024.

“Sufian, who was appointed to the role on Feb 2, 2021, had expressed his interest to pursue other opportunities and will stay for the remainder of his notice period of three months. His resignation will take effect on Feb 28, 2025.”

To ensure continued management of UEM Sunrise’s business and operations, the group said a transition plan will be executed for smooth handover of responsibilities.

“For this, the board of directors has named Hafizuddin Sulaiman, UEM Sunrise’s chief financial officer as the officer in charge (OIC). The board has also formed an oversight committee to assist the OIC in discharging his duties,” it said.
