TM enhances digital infrastructure with GPU-as-a-Service for AI

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has bolstered its digital infrastructure with the introduction of GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS), aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem and accelerating digital transformation.

TM stated the service was unveiled following the recent launch of the National Artificial Intelligence Office by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

It described GPUaaS as the first of its kind in Malaysia, leveraging NVIDIA GPU technology hosted at TM’s Uptime Tier-III certified data centres. The solution offers low-latency, real-time, high-performance AI computing while ensuring data sovereignty and security.

TM group chief executive officer Amar Huzaimi Md Deris highlighted that GPUaaS would enhance TM’s digital infrastructure and support Malaysia’s AI aspirations.

"By offering cost-efficient access to high-performance computing for AI model training and inferencing, we enable businesses and government agencies to adopt AI-driven solutions with greater ease, ensuring operational efficiency and scalability," he said in a statement today.

Amar Huzaimi noted that GPUaaS features a modular and scalable design, meeting diverse user requirements.

TM also announced it has secured an international customer for GPUaaS, with delivery scheduled by year-end.

"This initiative reflects TM’s commitment to empowering industries and unlocking new opportunities through AI infrastructure. It aligns with our Digital Powerhouse 2030 aspiration to advance a Digital Malaysia," Amar Huzaimi added. - Bernama
