YNH Property’s MD replaces brother as EC


PETALING JAYA: YNH Property Bhd has redesignated its managing director (MD), Datuk Yu Kuan Huat (66), as its executive chairman (EC).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the property developer said Kuan Huat’s brother, Datuk Dr Yu Kuan Chon (62), has been redesignated as the company’s executive director (from EC, previously).

Kuan Chon is YNH Property’s largest shareholder, with a direct and indirect shareholding of 32.58% as at Oct 7, 2024.

Kuan Chon was appointed to the board of the company on Sept 3, 2003, and became chairman on Feb 20, 2004.

After obtaining his medical degree in 1988, he began his career as a houseman in Klang, followed by a role as a medical officer a year later.

He subsequently served as a medical officer in hospitals in Ipoh and Taiping, Perak. In 1995, he left the government service to assist in the family business.

Kuan Huat, meanwhile, is the second largest shareholder with a direct and indirect shareholding of 29.34%.

He was appointed to the board of the company on Sept 3, 2003 and subsequently assumed the role of MD on Oct 8, 2003.
