KUALA LUMPUR: Batik Air is expanding its network with two new destinations, Beijing and Changsha, starting in March 2025, enhancing connectivity between Malaysia and China to support tourism and trade.
In a statement, the carrier said the inaugural flight to Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) will take off on March 21, 2025, operating three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Meanwhile, flights to Changsha Huanghua International Airport (CSX) will commence on March 22, 2025, with services running four times weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Batik Air said the two new destinations will be its 7th and 8th routes in China, adding to its existing services to Chengdu, Guangzhou, Haikou, Kunming, Zhangjiajie, and Zhengzhou.
Chief executive officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy highlighted the strategic importance of the new routes, stating that Beijing and Changsha are key destinations that reflect the airline’s vision of connecting people, cultures, and opportunities across Asia.
“These new routes reaffirm our commitment to providing greater connectivity and more travel options while enhancing tourism and trade between Malaysia and China. As tourism between the two countries continues to thrive, the significance of these new connections becomes even more evident,” he said.
