Samaiden shortlisted to develop 99.99MW large scale solar PV plant in Kelantan


KUALA LUMPUR: Samaiden Group Bhd via its wholly-owned subsidiary Samaiden Sdn Bhd has been shortlisted by the Energy Commission for the development of a 99.99MW large scale solar photovoltaic plant in Pasir Mas, Kelantan.

The company said it received a letter of notification on Dec 23, 2024, which formally acknowledged it as a shortlisted bidder for the project under the large scale solar 5 (LSS5) programme.

It said it was selected under Package 3 (30 MW to 500 MW category) based on its competitive bid and fulfilment of the Request for Proposal (RFP) criteria.

According to the company's statement, The project will operate under a 21-year solar power purchase agreement between Samaiden and Tenaga Nasional Bhd, ensuring a stable and long-term revenue stream.

The plant is scheduled to achieve its commercial operation date (COD) by Oct 11, 2027, when it will begin supplying electricity to the national power grid.

"The development of the 99.99 MW LSS Plant in Pasir Mas aligns seamlessly with our strategic plan to expand the Group’s asset ownership," said group managing director Datuk Chow Pui Hee.
