KUALA LUMPUR: Etiqa Life Insurance Bhd (ELIB) has appointed Leong Su Yern as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective Jan 1, 2025.
In her new role, Leong will report directly to Kamaludin Ahmad, group CEO of Etiqa Insurance and Takaful, who has been acting as interim CEO of ELIB since Paul Low's retirement in December 2023.
Leong joined Etiqa in 2013 as head of pricing for life and family products, where she ensured regulatory compliance and developed pricing strategies for both ELIB and Etiqa Family Takaful Bhd (EFTB).
In 2022, she was the chief product officer at Maybank Ageas Holding Bhd before transitioning to ELIB in 2023, where she took on the role of general manager, overseeing sales channels.
Leong has over 23 years of experience in the insurance industry and is a dedicated Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA). With more than 18 years in leadership roles, she has consistently driven strategic growth and operational excellence.
