IWCity open to future collaborations with Melia Hotels International

KUALA LUMPUR: Iskandar Waterfront City Bhd (IWCity) is open to exploring potential future collaboration opportunities with Melia Hotels International, following the expiration of their memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Jan 1, 2025.

The MoU, initially announced in March 2024, was intended for a proposed hotel development under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand.

IWCity’s board of directors announced that after a thorough review of the company’s business environment and evolving operational needs, and following the expiration of the MoU, Meliá Hotels International concurred on Jan 6, 2025, that the MoU will not be extended.

“Nevertheless, the company remains open to exploring potential future collaborations and welcomes the opportunity to discuss any alternative opportunities with Meliá Hotels International,” it added.
