PETALING JAYA: Cypark Resources Bhd has announced that the Danau Tok Uban (DTU) project, which consists of two interconnected floating solar plants, has officially achieved its commercial operational date (COD) for one of the water bodies known as DTU2 with a generation capacity of 30 megawatt (MW) alternating current.
In a statement, it said the single buyer has formally acknowledged the facility’s readiness of DTU2 for commercial operations.
The company said COD for DTU1 is expected to follow very soon.
Cypark Resources executive chair Datuk Ami Moris said the achievement not only underscores Cypark’s technical and operational expertise but also signals the company’s readiness to lead more projects in Malaysia’s renewable energy landscape.
“With this COD milestone, Cypark is now positioned to receive the full cash-flow benefits of its portfolio, having delivered, and operationalised close to 400MW of solar generation capacity nationwide,” she said.
She added that the company’s waste-to-energy plant has also been significantly enhanced in recent months, further solidifying its position as a leader in sustainable energy solutions.
For the second quarter ended Oct 31, 2024, Cypark’s net profit surged to RM2.28mil from RM992,000 in the previous corresponding period.
Revenue declined to RM49.15mil from RM55.28mil a year earlier, mainly attributed to lower revenue recognition from its hospital construction project, which is reaching completion.
